Eligibility

• Electronics: B.E. / B.Tech / B.Sc (4-year) Engineering in Electronics, Electronics & Communication, Electronics & Telecommunication, Communication or Telecommunication from an AICTE-approved college.
• Mechanical: B.E. / B.Tech / B.Sc (4-year) Engineering in Mechanical from an AICTE-approved college.
• First class for UR / OBC (NCL) / EWS; pass class for SC / ST / PwBD. AMIE / AMIETE / GIETE with first class in these disciplines is also accepted.
• Other equivalent disciplines and dual specialisations are not accepted. CGPA holders must produce the university's percentage-conversion certificate at the interview.
• Colour-blind candidates are not suitable (BEL medical standard). Selected candidates sign a 2-year service agreement (₹2,00,000 bond) after 6 months' training.

Salary

Basic pay: ₹40,000–3%–1,40,000 (E-II Grade; due for revision from 01.01.2027). CTC about ₹13 lakh a year, as printed in the advertisement. Allowances include DA, HRA, conveyance allowance, performance-related pay, medical reimbursement and other perks as admissible.

Exam Pattern

• Computer based test: 125 questions in 120 minutes: 100 technical (core engineering subjects of your discipline) and 25 general aptitude & reasoning.
• 1 mark per question; one-fourth mark deducted for each wrong answer. Paper in English and Hindi.
• Weightage: CBT 85 marks, interview 15 marks. Minimum 35% (30% for SC/ST/PwBD) in CBT and interview separately.
• Interview shortlist: 1:5, discipline-wise and category-wise.

Exam Centres

Candidates choose 5 test centres from Annexure-A. Cities include Delhi/NCR, Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Agra, Meerut, Aligarh, Patna, Muzaffarpur, Bhagalpur, Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Dhanbad, Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Chandigarh/Mohali, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar/Cuttack, Guwahati, Mumbai MMR, Pune, Nagpur, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, Thiruvananthapuram and more. BEL may change the centre based on numbers. Travel cost for the CBT is not reimbursed.

How to Apply

1. Read Advt No. 17556/HR/All-India/2026 in full and check your discipline, class and age.
2. Open the BEL Job Notifications page and click the Probationary Engineer apply link (live from 28.10.2026, 2:00 PM).
3. Register with your e-mail and mobile (both OTP-verified), then log in with the Application Sequence Number and password you receive.
4. Fill in personal, qualification and communication details. Upload a photo (3.5 × 4.5 cm, 100–200 KB, JPG) and signature (80–150 KB, JPG). Choose 5 CBT centres.
5. Pay ₹1,180 through SBI e-Pay Lite (if applicable), then print the application. The form cannot be edited after submission.
