Post-wise Vacancy Details

29 URSC vacancies are reserved for Ex-Servicemen (21 Technician-B, 2 LVD-A, 6 HVD-A; 24 of these are backlog), plus 1 HVD-A vacancy at MCF Hassan. URSC says the number of vacancies is provisional and may vary. Category figures are as printed in the official advertisement.

Eligibility

• Technician-B (post codes 01–08): SSLC / SSC / Matriculation pass plus ITI / NTC / NAC from NCVT in the trade of the post (Electronics Mechanic group, Fitter, Electrician, R&A/C, Turner, Machinist, Motor Vehicle Mechanic or Electroplater).
• Light Vehicle Driver-A and Staff Car Driver-A: SSLC / SSC / Matriculation pass or equivalent, a valid light-vehicle driving licence and 3 years' experience as a light vehicle driver (counted after getting the licence).
• Heavy Vehicle Driver-A: SSLC / SSC / Matriculation pass or equivalent, a valid HVD licence and Public Service Badge (where statutory), with 5 years' driving experience, of which at least 3 years as a heavy vehicle driver.
• Experience certificates must come from Government / semi-Government agencies or registered companies, societies or trusts. Experience certificates from individuals and part-time experience are not accepted. Any other Karnataka Motor Vehicle Act requirement has to follow within 3 months of joining.
• Only candidates who have already passed the qualifying exam can apply. Students awaiting results are not eligible.

Salary

Technician-B: Pay Level 3, ₹21,700 per month plus admissible allowances. Heavy / Light Vehicle Driver-A and Staff Car Driver-A: Pay Level 2, ₹19,900 per month plus admissible allowances. Staff are under the National Pension System / Unified Pension Scheme. URSC also provides free transport, limited housing, LTC, group insurance, subsidised canteen and a medical scheme (as per the advertisement).

Exam Pattern

• Technician-B: written test of 80 MCQs in 1.5 hours (+1 / –0.33), curriculum-based. Shortlisting for the skill test in a 1:5 ratio (minimum 10 candidates).
• Driver posts: written test of 100 MCQs in 2 hours: Motor Vehicles Act 1988 (50), elementary English (15), elementary arithmetic (15) and general knowledge (20), with one-fourth negative marking. Shortlisting for the driving test in a 1:10 ratio.
• The skill / driving test is qualifying: 60 out of 100 marks needed, no relaxation. The written test may be held in Bengaluru or other cities. The skill test is held only in Bengaluru.

2. Open the apply link on isro.gov.in / ursc.gov.in (24.10.2026, 5 PM to 13.11.2026, 11:55 PM) and register with a valid e-mail ID (hall tickets come only by e-mail).
3. Upload a photo (3.5 × 4.5 cm, 100–200 KB, white background), signature (80–150 KB), qualification and experience certificates and any category certificate.
4. Pay ₹500 through Bharatkosh and enter your bank details correctly for the refund.
5. Submit and print the application. Submitted forms cannot be edited, so check everything first.
