The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC), Prayagraj has published Advertisement No. 07/2026 (dated 23-10-2026) for the Assistant Teacher (Trained Graduate Grade) Selection Examination 2026. There are 17,735 vacancies in non-government aided secondary schools of the UP Secondary Education Department: 16,193 in boys' schools and 1,542 in girls' schools. OTR-based online applications run from 24-10-2026 to 23-11-2026, and the written exam is on 23 and 24 December 2026.

Eligibility
- Graduation with the subject (e.g. Hindi, English, Mathematics, Science, Sanskrit) with at least 50% marks, or a post-graduation with at least 45% marks, from a recognised university. Subject-wise rules are in section 7 of the advertisement.
- B.Ed. degree from an NCTE-recognised course.
- Pass in the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) for the Upper Primary level (Class 6–8) conducted by the UP Government or the Government of India. The valid TET certificate must be held by 30-06-2027.
- Physical Education, Music, Art, Agriculture, Sewing and similar subjects have their own degree/diploma rules in the advertisement.
Age Limit
Minimum 21 years as on 01-07-2026. Upper limit is the superannuation age of 62 years. Applications from anyone older than 62 on 01-07-2026 are not accepted.

Salary
Pay Level-7: ₹44,900 – ₹1,42,400 per month (as per the advertisement), plus allowances as per UP Government rules.
Exam Pattern
One written exam of 360 marks with 120 objective MCQs: 30 on General Knowledge and 90 on the subject. Duration 2 hours, OMR-based with four options per question. Merit is prepared from the written exam. On a tie, the higher graduation percentage and then the training qualification percentage decide the order.
