Tier-I consists of 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) for 200 marks. The total time duration is 60 Minutes (80 Minutes for scribe-eligible candidates) with a sectional timer of 15 minutes for each subject. There is a negative marking of 0.50 marks for every incorrect answer.

Step 1: One-Time Registration (OTR) on New Portal
Visit ssc.gov.in and click "Login or Register". Complete your OTR profile with your active mobile number, email, and identity credentials. Old registrations from ssc.nic.in are not valid on the new system.
Step 2: Live Photograph & Scanned Signature Upload
Live Webcam Photo: No pre-existing photo upload is permitted. Sit/stand straight against a plain background with ample lighting without wearing a cap, mask, or spectacles.
Signature Upload: Upload scanned signature in JPEG/JPG format (10 KB to 20 KB, dimensions 4.0 cm x 2.0 cm). Signatures in capital letters will be rejected.
Step 3: Fill Examination Details & Regional Centers
Select 3 examination centers in order of priority within the same administrative SSC region. Indicate your highest and qualifying educational details and your typing test language preference (English or Hindi).
Step 4: Fee Payment & Final Confirmation
Review your filled application using the Preview tab. Remit ₹100 online fee (if applicable) and download the system-generated application confirmation page for future reference.

SSC CHSL 2026 – Critical Candidate Instructions (Avoid Form Rejection!)

Candidates must strictly adhere to the following operational instructions:

  • Live Photo Capture Protocol: Do not attempt to photograph a pre-printed photograph. The application module captures a live photo via webcam/mobile app. Face front with eyes open, no spectacles, no caps, and plain background.
  • Single Application Rule: Submit only one application. If multiple submissions with different registration numbers are detected, all applications will be rejected.
  • Signature Specs: Scanned signature must be 10 KB to 20 KB in JPEG/JPG format. Signatures written in capital letters or blurred files will lead to immediate cancellation.
