Selection Process
CBT / OMR as decided by JSSC. If applications < 50,000, Preliminary may be skipped (Commission may still decide otherwise).
Objective MCQ (when held) — see Exam Pattern. Qualifying category-wise cut-offs apply.
Three papers (Language; Regional/Tribal Language; General Knowledge). Paper-1 is qualifying (min 30%). Merit from Paper-2 + Paper-3.
As per JSSC rules after Mains merit (Normalised scores if multi-shift CBT).
Exam Pattern
Mode: CBT / OMR. All questions objective MCQ. Each question = 3 marks; wrong answer = −1 mark. Language: Hindi/English. Duration per paper: 2 hours.

- Jharkhand Knowledge: Geography, history, culture, languages/literature, minerals, industries, freedom movement contribution, schemes, sports, personalities.
- Mathematics / Science / Mental Ability: Matric-level arithmetic/algebra/geometry/trigonometry; everyday science; verbal & non-verbal reasoning.
- Mains Paper-1: Hindi & English unseen passage + grammar.
- Mains Paper-2: Chosen regional/tribal language grammar & literature as in brochure.
- Mains Paper-3: GS + Jharkhand + Science + Maths + Mental Ability + Computer Knowledge.
