The CBT examination comprises 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) carrying 100 marks with a strict negative marking scheme of 0.25 marks deducted for every wrong answer.

Comprehensive Selection Process & Weightage Distribution
• General / EWS / OBC(NCL): Minimum 40% in Section A, Minimum 40% in Section B, and Minimum 45% Aggregate.
• SC / ST: Minimum 35% in Section A, Minimum 35% in Section B, and Minimum 40% Aggregate.
• PwBD: Minimum 25% in Section A, Minimum 25% in Section B, and Minimum 30% Aggregate.
Final empanelment will be determined based on the consolidated composite score:
• Computer Based Test (CBT): 85% Weightage
• Group Discussion (GD) & Group Task (GT): 5% Weightage (Min 40% qualifying marks)
• Personal Interview (PI): 10% Weightage (Min 40% qualifying marks)
Selected executives must execute a service bond to serve IOCL for a minimum period of 3 years:

IOCL Executive 2026 – Critical Candidate Instructions (Prevent Rejection!)
Ensure strict compliance with the following mandatory directives:
- Live Photo Matching: Both the uploaded passport photograph and the system-captured live photograph must clearly match your physical appearance during GD/GT and Personal Interview.
- Signature Guidelines: Signatures written in CAPITAL LETTERS will be summarily rejected. Ensure your left thumb impression is clean and non-smudged.
- Valid Certificate Validity Dates: OBC (NCL) and EWS certificates must have been issued on or after 01.04.2026 by the competent authority in the prescribed central government format.
- Single Application Rule: Candidates must submit only one application for one post. In case of multiple submissions, only the latest registration will be accepted and all previous registrations will be cancelled.
- Strict Service Bond: Selected candidates are required to serve IOCL for a minimum of 3 years under a binding service agreement bond.
