The Gujarat Subordinate Service Selection Board (GSSSB) has issued Advertisement No. 461/202627 for direct recruitment to 1,663 posts of Work Assistant, Class-3 in the Central Design Organisation, Gandhinagar, under the Narmada, Water Resources, Water Supply & Kalpsar Department. Candidates with a Diploma in Civil Engineering (or one of the 23 equivalent diplomas listed by the department) can apply online on ojas.gujarat.gov.in from 15/10/2026 (7 PM) to 29/10/2026 (11:59 PM). A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is not eligible.

Eligibility
- Diploma in Civil Engineering from the Technical Examination Board or a recognised university/institution, or one of the 23 equivalent diplomas listed in the advertisement (e.g. Civil Construction, Construction Technology, Civil Draftsman, Quantity Surveying, Survey Engineering, Transportation Engineering).
- B.E./B.Tech Civil degree holders are NOT eligible (specific bar in the recruitment rules).
- Basic knowledge of computer application as per the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967.
- Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both.
- Indian citizen.
Age Limit
As on 29/10/2026: minimum 18 years, maximum 33 years. Relaxation: General women 5 years (max 38); reserved men 5 years (max 38); reserved women 10 years (max 43); General PwD men 10 years (max 43); General PwD women 15 years and reserved PwD 15–20 years (max 45); ex-servicemen get length of service plus 3 years.

Salary
Fixed pay of ₹26,000 per month for the first five years under the Finance Department resolutions. After five years of satisfactory service the employee becomes eligible for regular appointment in 7th Pay Commission Level 4 (₹25,500–81,100), subject to the Supreme Court SLP No. 14124/2012 and 14125/2012 outcome.

Negative marking: ¼ of the marks for the question are deducted for each wrong answer. Provisional and final answer keys are published by the Board.

- Merit list on total / normalised marks (5% extra marks for eligible sportspersons and departmental preference rules as per the advertisement)
