Assam Rifles Technical and Tradesman Recruitment 2026: Apply Online for 354 Posts
The Directorate General Assam Rifles, Shillong has notified the Technical and Tradesman Recruitment Rally 2026 vide Memo No. I.12016/A Branch (Rect Cell)/2026/1310 dated 27 August 2026 for 354 Group C posts in 18 trades. Applications are online only on assamrifles.gov.in from 28 September 2026 to 28 October 2026, 23:59 hrs. The rally is tentatively from 23 November 2026. All advertised trades are for male candidates.

There is no state-wise quota. About 10% of vacancies in the trades named in the memo are earmarked for ex-servicemen and revert to the category if ESM candidates are not available. Vacancies are tentative. All trades are for male candidates.
Eligibility
Indian male citizens. Educational qualification is trade-specific: most Rifleman trades need Class 10 plus a 2-year ITI or a 2/3-year diploma in the named trade. Store Keeper Technical needs matric. Mason needs Class 10, a trade test and one year of work. Warrant Officer (Cipher) needs 10+2 with Physics, Mathematics and English plus an NSQF Level 4 course of at least two years, or a bachelor’s in Electronics/ICT. Draughtsman needs 10+2 plus a 3-year diploma in Architectural Assistantship. OT Technician and Physiotherapist need 10+2, a diploma of at least two years and one year in a 50-bed hospital or centre. Recovery Vehicle Mechanic also needs a valid heavy/transport driving licence. Only one application and one trade. Category and trade cannot be changed later.
Age Limit (as on 1 July 2026)
Most trades: 18 to 23 years. Cipher, Draughtsman, Operation Theatre Technician and Physiotherapist: 18 to 25 years. Relaxation: SC/ST 5 years, OBC 3 years. Ex-servicemen: military service is deducted, then 3 years (UR), 6 years (OBC) or 8 years (SC/ST). Departmental Assam Rifles personnel may be relaxed up to age 40 for the trades where the order applies. Date of birth on the matric certificate is final.

Weight must be proportionate. PET: 5 km run in 24 minutes (all India except Ladakh); Ladakh region 1.6 km in 7 minutes. RFID PST/PET is at Jorhat or Diphu, Assam. Bring the original fee receipt and printed application.
Pay
Pay and allowances are those applicable to Assam Rifles personnel of the rank offered. The memo summary used for this page does not print a single rupee basic for every trade, so a salary calculator is not shown. Probation is two years. Leaving training early can mean recovery of training cost or three months’ pay.
CBT
Objective CBT of 100 marks. Minimum pass marks: 35% for General/EWS and 33% for SC/ST/OBC. Candidates who clear PST, PET, document check and CBT are considered for the trade test.
Syllabus
The CBT syllabus and the practical trade test follow the official rally notification on assamrifles.gov.in. Read the PDF in the recruitment viewer (notice id 8215) for the subject list of your trade.
Selection Method
PST and PET, document verification, CBT, trade skill test (computer trade test plus practical; qualifying only, about 1:4 of vacancies), detailed medical and review medical, then a trade- and category-wise merit list for training. Qualifying every stage does not by itself guarantee enrolment.
Rally Centres
RFID PST/PET reporting is at Jorhat (Assam) or Diphu (Assam). The exact date is posted on the portal after you apply. Other test centres, if any, will be intimated the same way.

- Open https://www.assamrifles.gov.in/ and the online application for this rally.
- Fill one form only. Pay ₹100 if you are not SC, ST or an ex-serviceman, online or by SBI challan.
- Upload the payment receipt and submit before 28 October 2026, 23:59 hrs.
- Print the form and carry the original receipt to PST/PET.

- One trade: Only one application is accepted. Trade and category cannot be changed at the rally.
- Fee receipt: Carry the original payment receipt. Without it you can be rejected at PST/PET.

- Jurisdiction: Disputes are limited to the courts at the place where the selection is physically held.
