About AIIMS CRE-5: What Is It and Who Is It For?

CRE-5 is a unified, single-window recruitment platform that allows eligible candidates to apply once and be considered for similar posts across multiple participating institutes simultaneously. The Examination Section, AIIMS New Delhi acts solely as the examination-conducting body — recruitment rules, service conditions, and final appointment decisions rest entirely with each participating institute independently.

Participating organizations are autonomous bodies or subordinate offices under the Government of India, functioning independently from AIIMS New Delhi. Candidates are advised to check each institute's individual recruitment rules and eligibility criteria before applying, as conditions may differ for the same post name across different institutes.

Selection Process – AIIMS CRE-5 2026 (8 Stages)

Stage 1 – Online Application: Register on www.aiimsexams.ac.in and submit application by 30 June 2026. Govt./PSU employees must upload NOC by 6 July 2026.
Stage 2 – Application Acceptance: Application status published on 9 July 2026 on the official website.
Stage 3 – Computer Based Test (CBT): Tentatively 25–27 July 2026 at examination centres across India. Admit cards issued before the exam date.
Stage 4 – Skill Test (where applicable): Conducted after CBT for qualifying candidates in applicable groups. Venue: preferably Delhi/NCR. Date to be notified separately.
Stage 5 – Choice & Preference: Qualified candidates invited to exercise institute preferences in order of priority. Failure to exercise choices within the window results in no allocation.
Stage 6 – Seat Allocation: Candidates allocated institutes in order of merit, based on choices exercised and eligibility at each participating institute.
Stage 7 – Document Verification: Original certificates verified by the respective AIIMS/Institute on the date notified by them individually.
Stage 8 – Joining: Selected candidates must report on the date specified in the result/allocation notice. Failure to report leads to mandatory cancellation of CRE candidature.

AIIMS CRE-5 Exam Pattern & Syllabus 2026

CBT Structure:
Duration: 90 minutes | Total Questions: 100 MCQs | Total Marks: 400 (4 marks per correct answer)
Negative Marking: –1 mark per wrong answer (1/4th deduction). No marks deducted for unattempted questions.

General Knowledge, Aptitude & Computer: 20 MCQs
Domain-Specific Questions: 80 MCQs (subject relevant to post applied for)
• Structure: 5 sections × 20 questions × 18 minutes each — sections are time-locked and sequential. Once a section closes, you cannot go back.
Medium of Examination:
Posts where essential qualification is 10th/12th → Bilingual (English & Hindi).
Posts requiring Bachelor's degree or higher (or specific technical domain) → English only.
Qualifying Marks:
UR / EWS: 40% | OBC: 35% | SC / ST: 30% | PwBD (all categories): 30% | Ex-Servicemen: As per their category
Tie-Breaking Rules:
Equal marks resolved by: (i) Higher marks in domain-specific section → (ii) Fewer wrong answers → (iii) Older date of birth → (iv) Alphabetical order of name, then father's name, then mother's name.
Skill Test (Stage II – Qualifying in Nature):
Applicable to select groups only. Final merit is based on CBT score, but only among those who pass the skill test.

How to Apply Online for AIIMS CRE-5 Recruitment 2026

  1. Visit the official AIIMS Exams website: www.aiimsexams.ac.in
  2. Register through the OTR (One-Time Registration) portal if you have not already done so. Note down your Registration Number and Password.
  3. Log in and click on the CRE-5 Application Link.
  4. Fill in all personal details carefully — name, date of birth, category, qualification, experience details, and NOC information if applicable. Name and DOB must match your Matriculation certificate.
  5. Upload your Photograph, Signature, and Left Thumb Impression in the format specified under "Upload Image Instructions" in the notification.
  6. Select your Examination Centre preference (state/UT) from the available options.
  7. Pay the applicable non-refundable examination fee (₹3,000 for Gen/OBC; ₹2,400 for SC/ST/EWS; Exempted for PwBD) via Debit Card, Credit Card, or Net Banking. Pay separately for each group applied.

What is AIIMS CRE-5 and how is it different from a regular recruitment?
CRE-5 is a Common Recruitment Examination conducted by AIIMS New Delhi on behalf of 28 participating institutes. Candidates apply once and are considered for similar posts across all institutes simultaneously, making it a single-window recruitment platform. AIIMS New Delhi only conducts the exam — final appointment is made by each individual institute.
What is the application fee for AIIMS CRE-5 2026?
General and OBC candidates must pay ₹3,000 per group applied. SC/ST/EWS candidates pay ₹2,400 per group (SC/ST fees are refunded after appearing in the exam). PwBD candidates are fully exempted. A separate fee is required for each group if applying to multiple groups.
Is there negative marking in the AIIMS CRE-5 CBT?

AIIMS CRE-5 2026 – Important Instructions (Avoid Rejection!)

Ensure meticulous adherence to the following parameters:

  • Institute-Specific Eligibility: The same post name can have different eligibility requirements at different institutes. Always verify your eligibility for the specific post at your preferred institute via Annexure-I of the official DRA before applying.
  • Section Time Lock: The CBT is divided into 5 time-locked sections of 18 minutes each. Once a section's time expires, you cannot return to it. Manage your time carefully within each section.
  • NOC Mandate: Candidates serving in any Govt./PSU/Autonomous Body must upload their No Objection Certificate by 6 July 2026. Failure to upload the NOC will result in the candidate being barred from appearing in the examination.
  • Separate Fee Per Group: Each post group requires a completely separate application and separate fee payment. There is no bundled or combined application option.
  • Choice & Preference is Mandatory: After qualifying the CBT, candidates MUST exercise institute preferences within the given window. Failure to exercise choices means no seat allocation — even if you scored well in the exam.
  • OBC NCL Certificate Date: OBC Non-Creamy Layer certificate must be valid for Financial Year 2026-27, meaning it must have been issued on or after 01 April 2026. Older certificates will not be accepted.
