    Selection Process For Coast Guard Navik CGEPT Examination

    Stage-I (Computer Based Online Examination)

    Document Verification:

    At Stage-I, candidate's identity will be checked against the details filled in the online application. Candidates must bring the following documents for verification:

    • Valid original Identity proof (Aadhar Card OR PAN Card OR Voter ID card OR Driving License OR Passport) as submitted in online application.
    • One printout of E-admit card with clear visibility of candidate's photograph and details.
    • Two passport size color photographs as uploaded in online application.
    • SC/ST candidates for fare reimbursement: original category certificate, two photocopies of self-attested SC/ST certificate, original train/bus ticket, cancelled cheque leaf for NEFT payment, and travel form from the website.

    Note: Discrepancies in Name, Date of Birth, Identity Card Number, or Photograph between online application, E-admit card, and identity proof will lead to cancellation of candidature. Only preliminary document verification is done at Stage-I.

    Biometric Recording:

    Candidates passing document verification undergo biometric recording at Stage-I. This data will be verified or recaptured in subsequent stages.

    Note:

    • Question paper is objective with four options; no negative marking.
    • Syllabus details are available on ICG website.

    Stage-II:

    Based on Stage-I performance, candidates are shortlisted for Stage-II at ICG Recruitment Centres. Additional documents must be uploaded to download the E-admit card. Stage-II includes:

    • Assessment Test: OMR based, qualifying in nature; results announced post-examination.
    • Physical Fitness Test (PFT): 1.6 Km run in 7 minutes, 20 Squat ups, and 10 Push-ups, all in continuity.
    • Document Verification: Matching all provided information with original documents. Any mismatch leads to cancellation.
    • Recruitment Medical Examination: Candidates can appeal medical fitness decisions within 21 days at designated military hospitals.

    Preparation of Final Merit List for Stage-III:

    Merit list prepared based on Stage-I marks after re-verification of documents and medical fitness. Tie-breaking rules include higher marks in Section-I and older age.

    Stage-III:

    Candidates qualifying Stage-I & II are shortlisted for reporting at INS Chilka involving basic identity checks, document verification, Pre-Enrolment Medicals, and submission of original documents and police verification.

    Stage-IV:

    Verification of all original documents through respective authorities before training commencement at INS Chilka. Candidates with non-genuine documents will be terminated.

    Important Instructions for Recruitment of Coast Guard Navik by Indian Coast Guard
    • Candidates previously withdrawn on disciplinary grounds from any service training establishment are ineligible to apply.
    • Candidates with a history of arrests, convictions, or pending criminal cases are not permitted to apply. This includes any ongoing police investigations or court proceedings.
    • Any criminal case or police investigation must not be pending against the candidate fr Coast Guard Navik at any stage from application to joining the training academy. Conviction by a competent court disqualifies the candidate.
    • Original certificates and mark sheets presented at Stage-II will be returned after verification. Those at Stage-III will be retained if passed or returned if failed.
    • Selection for a particular batch at Coast Guard Navik is valid only for that batch. Candidates not in the final merit list cannot claim admission for the next batch without reapplying.
    • Applications sent via post for Coast Guard Navik are not accepted.
    • E-admit cards for Stage-III are issued only to those who qualify Stage-II and are in the merit list for the available vacancies. Travel to INS Chilka is at the candidate's expense.
    • No inquiries will be entertained regarding recruitment/enrolment after 30 Sep 2026.
    • Indiscipline, including cheating or malpractice during tests, results in disqualification. ICG's decision regarding such incidents is final.
    • Impersonation during recruitment at Coast Guard Navik leads to criminal proceedings against both the applicant and the impersonator.
    • Misbehavior at examination premises leads to disqualification from current and future ICG exams. ICG's decision on eligibility at all stages is final.
    • Applications and documents are scrutinized for eligibility for Coast Guard Navik at all stages, with potential rejection at any point, including after induction into service.
    • Candidates from unrecognized "Open Schools" by AICTE/COBSE are not eligible.
    • Examination city allocation is based on preferences, with ICG reserving rights to reassign based on the number of applicants.
    • ICG can cancel exams of Coast Guard Navik at one centre, rescheduling to another date or location.
    • ICG reserves the right to cancel the entire recruitment process at any stage without assigning reasons.
    • Electronic devices are strictly prohibited during exams; possession results in immediate disqualification and legal action.
    • ICG does not guarantee the safety of electronic devices, and candidates cannot leave the examination venue once the test starts.
    • Frisking of all candidates occurs before entering the examination venue.
    • Candidates should alert invigilators to any suspicious activities by others.
    • A valid email and mobile number are necessary for registration. All communications will be via email or the ICG recruitment website; failure to check these regularly can lead to missed stages and disqualification.
    • Once submitted, no changes can be made to the online application form. False information leads to cancellation.
    • Category details must be filled with care; no changes are allowed after submission, and incorrect declarations can lead to disqualification.
    • Candidates are advised to apply early to avoid last-minute issues.
    • Failure to appear at the scheduled time for any stage results in disqualification.
    • ICG is not responsible for candidates missing the application deadline due to external factors.
    • Potential issues with exam administration may lead to re-examinations or rescheduling, with no claim rights for candidates unwilling to comply.
    • Corrigendums will only be published on the recruitment website; candidates must check regularly for updates.
    • Check FAQs on the recruitment site for guidance during application and exam stages.
    • Remember the mobile number and email entered; all communications will be encrypted for security.
    • Documents must be uploaded before downloading the Stage-II E-admit card. Failure to do so results in disqualification.
    • Certificates like SC/ST/OBC/EWS that expire before Stage-II or III must be renewed; bring both old and new certificates.
    • Fraudulent claims of category status or other benefits lead to debarment from current and future ICG examinations.
    • Regular checks on email and login dashboard are mandatory; failure to do so is at the candidate's risk.
    • Check common reasons for rejection before applying to ensure eligibility.
    • Apply early to avoid issues with website load near the closing date.
    • Bring all original documents as uploaded in the application to the examination venues.
    • Date of birth and gender cannot be changed post-application; incorrect details lead to cancellation at any stage.

    • An edit/correction window post-registration is available for a few fields; utilize this to correct mistakes.
    • Enter all subject marks correctly from Class 10th and 12th mark sheets; incomplete or incorrect entries may lead to disqualification.
