The UP Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) has issued Advt No. 08/2026 for 1,475 Principal posts (1,318 boys' + 157 girls' institutions) and Advt No. 09/2026 for 1,172 Headmaster posts (1,037 boys' + 135 girls' schools) in non-government aided secondary schools of Uttar Pradesh. Online applications are open from 23-10-2026 to 22-11-2026, and the exam for both is on 07-01-2027.

Eligibility
- Post-graduation (Master's degree) with at least 50% marks from a recognised university.
- Principal: B.Ed. (NCTE-recognised) and at least 4 years of teaching as Lecturer or Assistant Teacher in higher classes (9–12) of a recognised institution, or at least 4 years as Headmaster of a High School.
- Headmaster: B.Ed. or B.P.Ed. and at least 4 years of teaching as Lecturer or Assistant Teacher in classes 9–12, or at least 4 years as Headmaster of a Junior High School.
- The experience certificate must be issued by the competent authority (format in Annexure-2 of the advertisement) and produced at the interview.
Age Limit
Minimum 30 years as on 01-07-2026 for both posts. Upper limit is the superannuation age of 62 years.

Salary
Principal: Level-12, ₹78,800 – ₹2,09,200. Headmaster: Level-10, ₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500 (as per the advertisements).
