ISRO ICRB 2026 – Critical Instructions Every Applicant Must Know

These are ISRO-specific conditions drawn directly from the official notification — not generic warnings. Read every point carefully before applying.

• 60% Minimum is Strictly Enforced — No CGPA Conversion Allowed: ISRO will not permit conversion of CGPA into percentage for determining eligibility, regardless of whether your university provides a conversion formula. If your degree certificate/consolidated marksheet mentions only CGPA, that CGPA must itself be at least 6.32 on a 10-point scale. If only percentage is mentioned, it must be 60% or above. Submitting an application without meeting this exact standard will result in outright rejection at document verification.
• Same Zone Rule — Cannot Apply for Same Post in Two Zones: While you can apply for Post No. 1 (Assistant) in Ahmedabad and Post No. 2 (JPA) in Bengaluru simultaneously, you cannot apply for Post No. 1 (Assistant) in Ahmedabad AND Post No. 1 (Assistant) in Bengaluru. Submitting duplicate zone applications for the same post will result in your candidature being cancelled. Additionally, if you apply for both post types, both applications must have the same Written Test centre city selected.
• Hall Tickets via Email Only — No Hard Copies Dispatched: ISRO will send call letters for the Written Test and Skill Test exclusively through your registered email ID (and SMS). No physical copies are sent under any circumstances. Candidates are strongly advised to check their spam/junk folders regularly in addition to their inbox. If you miss the email and cannot download your hall ticket, you will not be permitted to appear at the exam centre — and no TA will be paid.
• NOC Mandatory at Skill Test — Not After, Not Later: Candidates currently employed under Central/State Government, PSUs, or Autonomous Bodies must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) in original from their employer at the time of the Skill Test. If you gain employment after applying, you must inform your employer and mandatorily produce an NOC at the Skill Test. Failure to produce the NOC in original at the Skill Test will mean you are denied entry, no TA will be paid, and you lose all claim on the recruitment process. ISRO does not accept NOCs submitted at any other stage.
• Posting Anywhere Across ISRO — No Location Preference Entertained: Selected candidates will be appointed to any Centre/Unit of the Department of Space/ISRO and are liable to be transferred to any such Centre/Unit at any point of time based on organisational requirements. ISRO has centres from Thiruvananthapuram to Dehradun to Sriharikota — you must be willing to be posted at any location before applying. No preference requests are entertained.
• Bank Account Details Must Be Correct for Fee Refund: The processing fee refund is credited directly to the bank account entered in your online application form. Once submitted, you cannot request a change of bank details. Candidates must enter the exact bank name, branch, account holder name, account number, and IFSC code correctly at the time of application. ISRO/ICRB will not be held responsible for refund failures due to incorrect bank details, and no correction requests will be entertained.
• Pittman's Shorthand Only — Longhand Strictly Not Permitted for Stenography: For JPA/Stenographer posts, the Stenography Skill Test requires Pittman's shorthand dictation at 60 wpm. If you write in longhand instead of shorthand strokes, the transcript will not be evaluated at all — effectively treated as a failed attempt. Ensure your Pittman's shorthand is practiced specifically, and be aware that wrong spelling, substitutions, additions, and omissions all count as errors under the defined mistake-calculation formula.
• OBC Certificate Must Be Valid as on Last Date (16.08.2026): OBC candidates must hold a valid OBC certificate in the Central Government prescribed proforma, issued by a Competent Authority, that is valid as on 16.08.2026 (the last date of online registration). Certificates issued in a state government format that differs from the Central Government format will not be accepted. Self-declarations or expired certificates will result in cancellation of reserved category claim.
• PwBD Candidates Must Register on UDID Portal Before Applying: ISRO has specifically advised PwBD candidates to get their manual disability certificate digitized on the UDID portal well in advance for verification of disability at the Skill Test stage. Candidates applying for posts reserved for PwBD must submit a self-attested copy of Disability Certificate in the prescribed format at the time of the Skill Test — issued by a Medical Board of at least 3 members (including a specialist in the relevant disability field) constituted by Central or State Government. Minimum 40% disability is required for reservation benefit.
