Salary & Perks

Selected candidates will draw a starting basic pay of ₹47,700/- per month (₹29,000/- plus nine advance increments). The initial monthly Gross Emoluments for a Junior Engineer (Civil/Electrical) is approximately ₹91,309/-. Perks include HRA (15% if no quarters provided), medical reimbursement, LFC, and housing/personal loans at concessional rates.

Exam Pattern & Selection Process

Phase 1: Online Examination (300 Marks | 150 Mins) • English Language: 50 Qs | 50 Marks | 40 Mins • Engineering Discipline Paper I: 40 Qs | 100 Marks | 40 Mins • Engineering Discipline Paper II: 40 Qs | 100 Marks | 40 Mins • General Intelligence and Reasoning: 50 Qs | 50 Marks | 30 Mins Note: There is a negative marking of 1/4th marks for each wrong answer.
Phase 2: Language Proficiency Test (LPT) Candidates provisionally shortlisted will undergo a mandatory LPT in the Official/Local Language of the applied zone. Failing the LPT leads to absolute disqualification.

Indicative Syllabus – Junior Engineer (Civil)

Paper I:Building Materials: Stones, cement, timber, paints, bituminous materials. • Estimating, Costing & Valuation: Rate analysis, measurement units, earthwork, brickwork, RCC, valuation methods, depreciation. • Surveying: Chain surveying, compass traversing, leveling, contouring, tachometric survey, earthwork calculation. • Soil Mechanics: Index properties, permeability, consolidation, shear strength, compaction, bearing capacity. • Hydraulics: Hydrostatics, Bernoulli's theorem, flow through pipes/channels, pumps, turbines. • Transportation Engineering: Geometric design, pavement materials, flexible/rigid pavements. • Environmental Engineering: Water supply/purification, sewerage systems, solid waste management, air & noise pollution.
Paper II:Theory of Structures: Elasticity constants, beams (determinate/indeterminate), Bending moment & shear force, torsion. • Concrete Technology: Properties, mix design, batching, curing, quality control. • RCC Design: Singly/double reinforced beams, slabs, footings, retaining walls (Limit State & Working Stress). • Steel Design: Columns, beams, roof trusses, plate girders.

Indicative Syllabus – Junior Engineer (Electrical)

Paper I: Basics of Electrical Engg, Lighting design, Transformers (working & maintenance), Pumping systems, Motors & starting methods, Substation design (DG sets), Earthing & lightening arrestors.
Paper II: AC & Refrigeration basics, Inverters/UPS systems, Energy conservation, LT distribution, cabling, panel design, Testing of electrical installation, Elevator basics, CCTV/Fire alarms, Indian Electricity Rules, Switchgears & protection.

RBI JE 2026 – Important Instructions (Form Reject Na Ho!)

Strictly follow the declaration text and upload formats to avoid disqualification:

  • Handwriting Rule: The declaration MUST be in your own handwriting and ONLY in English. If it is written by someone else, or in Capital Letters, your application will be deemed invalid.
  • Signature Match: The signature uploaded must exactly match the signature you provide on the attendance sheet/Call Letter on exam day. Mismatches will lead to immediate disqualification.
  • Correct Placement: Ensure the photo is uploaded in the photo section and the signature in the signature section. Swapping these will result in exam denial.
  • Percentage Calculation: Do not round off your aggregate percentage. 49.99% will be treated as less than 50% and will disqualify you. Ensure you meet the exact 65% (Diploma) or 55% (Degree) requirement.
