Figures are as printed in the official notification. Journeyman posts include 1 PwBD (OH), 1 PwBD (HH/PD) and 2 PwBD (VH/LV, backlog) vacancies, except in Crane Operator, Rigger and Driver Material Handling.

Eligibility

Journeyman: Matriculation (10th pass) with NAC/NTC in the relevant trade (as on 01.10.2026). See the trade table in the notification for the exact trades accepted.
Journeyman (Driver Material Handling): also needs a valid Heavy Vehicle Driving Licence.
Driver (Vehicle): Matriculation with a valid commercial LMV driving licence and at least 6 years' post-qualification experience driving light and heavy vehicles (heavy licence desirable).

Age Limit

Journeyman: maximum 26 years as on 01.10.2026.
Driver (Vehicle): maximum 32 years as on 01.10.2026.
Relaxation: OBC 3 years, SC/ST 5 years (where posts are reserved), PwBD 10–15 years, ex-servicemen as per rules. Maximum age after all relaxations is 56.

Salary

Journeyman: 2 years' training on fixed stipend – ₹24,000 a month in year 1 and ₹26,000 in year 2. On successful completion they may be absorbed in the Semi-skilled grade (₹19,900-3%-69,650).
Driver (Vehicle): Skilled grade, ₹20,110-3%-70,390, plus IDA, HRA, CPF and other allowances.

Exam Pattern

Written test: 100 objective questions, 100 marks, 2 hours – Part I trade questions (80 marks), Part II general knowledge, aptitude, reasoning and numerical ability (20 marks). Paper in English and Hindi.
Qualifying marks: 50% overall (45% SC/ST/OBC, 40% PwBD).
Practical (trade) test for shortlisted candidates; Crane Operator, Rigger and Driver posts have additional tests.
