Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualifications
Candidates must possess the requisite qualifications. The minimum qualifying marks for UR/OBC/EWS is 60% (55% for SC/ST/PwBD). Note: 59.99% will NOT be treated as eligible; exact 60% or above is required.

Selection Process – CIL MT 2026
Stage 1: Computer Based Test (CBT) - No Interview!
The duration of the CBT is 3 hours in one sitting. It consists of two papers (Paper-I & Paper-II) of 100 marks each.
• Paper-I (100 Marks): General Knowledge/Awareness, Reasoning, Numerical Ability, and General English.
• Paper-II (100 Marks): Professional Knowledge (Discipline related).
Each question carries 1 mark. There is NO negative marking for wrong answers.

Based strictly on CBT marks, a merit list will be published. Shortlisted candidates will be directly called for DV and IME. There is no interview stage for final selection.

- Visit the official application portal: CIL MT Digialm Portal.
- Read the detailed advertisement carefully. A candidate can submit an online application for one discipline only.
- Fill out your personal and educational details. Ensure your name and DOB match your matriculation certificate exactly.
- Document Uploads: Prepare scanned copies (PDF format) of your 10th certificate, all semester mark sheets, final degree, category certificate, and signature.
- CGPA Conversion Rule: If your mark sheet has a CGPA/GPA, you MUST upload the conversion formula certificate issued by your University.
- Preview your application thoroughly. Modifications are not allowed once submitted.
- Pay the application fee of ₹1180/- online. Download and retain the printed copy of the application form and fee receipt for future reference.
CIL Management Trainee 2026 – FAQs
Is there any interview for the CIL MT post?
No. The final selection will be based strictly on the marks obtained in the Computer Based Test (CBT) only. There is no personal interview.
Are final year students eligible to apply?
Yes, candidates currently studying in their final semester/year of the academic year 2025-26 are eligible to apply, provided they expect their final results by 31.08.2026.
Is there any negative marking in the CBT?
No. There is no penalty (zero negative marking) for wrong answers in both Paper-I and Paper-II.
I have 59.9% marks in my B.Tech. Am I eligible?
No. Rounding off percentages is strictly not acceptable. You must have exactly 60.00% or above (for UR/OBC/EWS) to be eligible.
CIL MT 2026 – Important Instructions (Prevent Form Rejection!)
Ensure you strictly follow these guidelines to avoid application cancellation:
- Strict Percentage Criteria: CIL does not permit rounding off. 59.99% will be rejected. SC/ST/PwBD candidates require exactly 55.00% or above.
- CGPA to Percentage: If your university awards CGPA/GPA, you MUST upload the official conversion formula certificate. If not uploaded, your candidature may be cancelled during Document Verification.
- Final Year Students: Final year students must upload all mark sheets up to the latest completed semester/trimester to establish current eligibility.
- OBC (NCL) Certificates: Your OBC Non-Creamy Layer certificate must be valid and issued on or after 01.04.2026 to be considered valid for this recruitment.
