Important Instructions for IOB Local Bank Officer Recruitment 2025-26

These instructions are for candidates applying for the Local Bank Officer Recruitment 2025-26 (Advertisement No. HRDD/RECT/01/2025-26) at Indian Overseas Bank. Read them carefully before filling the IOB Online Application 2025.

• The decision of Indian Overseas Bank in all recruitment matters is final and binding. No correspondence or personal inquiries will be entertained.
• IOB reserves the right to analyze examination responses for irregularities. If misconduct is detected, your candidature may be cancelled without notice.
• The recruitment process includes an Online Examination (Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, General/Economy/Banking Awareness, Data Analysis & Interpretation, English Knowledge), a Language Proficiency Test (LPT) for the local language, and a Personal Interview. Final selection is based on combined scores (80% exam, 20% interview), state-wise and category-wise.
• Providing incorrect information or violating rules at any stage will lead to disqualification. If detected post-appointment, your service may be terminated without notice.
• Candidates from reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD) must indicate their category in the IOB Online Application 2025 and provide valid certificates in Central Government format during document verification.
• Ensure uploaded photograph (20-50 KB, JPEG, 4.5x3.5 cm), signature (10-20 KB, JPEG, 140x60 pixels), left thumb impression (20-50 KB, JPEG, 3x3 cm), and handwritten declaration (50-100 KB, JPEG, 10x5 cm) are clear. Unclear or mismatched uploads will result in rejection.
• Upload documents including Birth Certificate, 10th/12th Marksheets (for language proficiency), Degree Certificate, Caste/PwBD/EWS Certificate, Experience Certificates (if applicable), and Photo ID. Review and re-upload before final submission if needed.
• After submitting the IOB Online Application 2025, download and print the form and e-receipt for future reference. No hard copy submission is required unless requested.
• Candidates claiming reservation benefits must present original certificates (e.g., SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD) in the prescribed Central Government format during document verification.
• PwBD candidates must submit a valid disability certificate (minimum 40% disability) issued by a competent authority, as per the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, during document verification.
• Age relaxations apply: SC/ST (5 years), OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) (3 years), PwBD (10 years), Ex-Servicemen (5 years), Persons affected by 1984 riots (5 years). Cumulative relaxations for SC/ST/OBC are capped at a maximum age of 50 years.
• OBC candidates must provide a certificate with a Non-Creamy Layer clause, issued on or after May 31, 2024, matching the Central Government list. Creamy layer OBC candidates must apply as General.
• Selected candidates will be posted in the applied state (Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Maharashtra, Gujarat, West Bengal, or Punjab) for 12 years or until promotion to SMGS-IV, whichever is earlier.
• Submit only one application per state. Multiple applications for the same state will consider only the last submitted one, with forfeiture of fees for earlier registrations.
• Provide an active email address and mobile number. All updates, including call letters, will be communicated via the IOB website (www.iob.in). No changes to contact details are allowed post-submission.
• No changes to the IOB Online Application 2025 (e.g., state, category, contact details) are allowed after final submission.
• Applications with incomplete details, missing documents, or misrepresentation will be rejected at any stage, including post-appointment.
• For technical issues while applying online, refer to the IOB career portal (www.iob.in/careers). No personal inquiries will be addressed.
• IOB may cancel, modify, or amend the number of vacancies or recruitment process at any time without prior notice or assigning reasons.
• Applicants in government or public sector employment must submit an original No Objection Certificate at the Personal Interview, failing which their candidature will be cancelled.
• Canvassing in any form, including unfair means or impersonation, will result in disqualification or termination if detected post-appointment.
• Travelling allowance is available only for outstation SC/ST/PwBD candidates (unemployed) attending the Personal Interview, covering second-class train fare by the shortest route, upon submission of travel evidence.
• Candidates must be proficient in the local language (reading, writing, speaking) of the applied state. A Language Proficiency Test is mandatory unless exempted by 10th/12th marksheet proof of the language as a subject.
• Candidates must ensure their graduation results are declared by May 1, 2025, and provide original certificates during verification.
• Selected candidates will be on probation for 2 years and must execute a Financial Service Indemnity Bond of Rs. 2,00,000/- for 3 years of service. Confirmation follows successful probation per IOB rules.
• Candidates must maintain a CIBIL score of 650 or above at the time of joining, as per IOB’s credit history policy.
• For PwBD candidates using a scribe, the scribe must be from a different academic stream, arranged at the candidate’s cost, and both must provide an undertaking confirming eligibility. Compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour is provided.
